Main page — design propositions

Three directions for the home view, all built on the new EXP model (1 validated minute = 1 EXP; quests grant bonus EXP; levels & cash unchanged). They differ in what leads the page. Playroll design system (canvas #0f1110, lime #c8f135, purple EXP #7c3aed, Lato).

What the current home does well / where it strains

The post-revamp home stacks: top row (profile · unified StatusBar · utility icons), a HomePaneHeader strip, the LaunchPad + CoverGrid master-detail row, and a footer with the XP bar + DailyRecordingStatus. It's clean, but for the EXP + quests push three things strain:

  • Progression is buried at the bottom. The XP bar is the core loop, yet it lives in the footer — the first thing you see is the catalog, not your level/next reward.
  • Quests are bolted on. Right now they're a nav icon + a callout I added on top of the pane stack. If quests are "what we push hardest," the home should make them (and the bonus-EXP hook) structural, not an afterthought.
  • The casual-play floor isn't stated. Nothing on the home says the simple truth of the new model: just play to earn EXP; do quests to earn more. That one sentence should be legible at a glance.

Each proposition keeps the design system, the always-visible EXP bar, and the rules (no pace copy, no ghost-fill, rewards are status). They differ in what leads: your progression, the quests, or a balanced split.

A — Progression-forward. Your level + EXP bar lead the page (lifted out of the footer); "1 min = 1 EXP" and quest-bonus EXP are stated up top. Play and quests sit beneath as the two ways to fill the bar. Best if leveling is the emotional core.

B — Quests-forward. The priority quest is the hero, an active-quests rail sits below, and casual play is the always-there floor ("or just play — 1 EXP/min"). EXP bar stays in the footer. Best if quests are the thing we push hardest and the headline of every session.

C — Balanced refresh. Two clean columns: Play on the left (launch + library), a "Progress & Quests" rail on the right (EXP bar + level + next reward up top, then bonus-EXP quests). Tidies the current density and gives EXP and quests a permanent, equal home. Lowest-risk evolution of today's layout.
